02 — The long version

I'm Juwon. 29, born and raised in Lagos, still here. I studied Fisheries at the University of Lagos and graduated with a 4.2/5 — second class upper, for anyone keeping score.

I found design in 2021 and never really put it down. I call myself a design engineer because no other label fits — I design the brand, build the website that carries it, ship the product, and direct the motion that makes it feel alive.

At Afro Tape I built the entire brand — logo, patterns, guidelines — designed and developed both the v1 and v2 sites in Framer, produced the brand launch film, and lead the social design direction. Along the way I helped hire the Product Manager and Social Media Manager who now run the day-to-day.

On the product side I designed and built Ball AI and NotBroekAI on Lovable, plus EngageMixAI — an agent that turns social listening into actual presence.

Currently: deepening into product design to round out the stack.

    Product Team Lead

    Mar 2025 — Present

    Dover, DE (Remote)

    • —Leading end-to-end product for a music-industry marketplace connecting African artists with creative service providers.
    • —Built the full brand system — logo, palette, typography, and asset guidelines.
    • —Designed UI/UX across web and native iOS/Android, from wireframes to production.
    • —Shipped the marketing site in Framer, optimised for conversion and storytelling.
    • —Stack: React, TypeScript, Supabase, Capacitor — real-time messaging, contracts, bookings, beat licensing, Paystack.
    • —Owning PRDs, roadmap, user research and GTM.

    • —Led the design team building cybersecurity solutions for the OT ecosystem.

    • —Led landing page design + build and full mobile app design.
    • —Directed branding and creative strategy for the entire product.
    • —Shipped the web app in Framer; native apps on iOS and Android.
    • —Achieved a 4.8★ rating on both app stores.

    • —Contributed to the design system and brand guidelines.

03 — Portraits

Before pixels, there was graphite.

Four-plus years. Two hundred-plus commissioned portraits in graphite. I still take the work — there's something about a face on paper that a screen never quite gives back.

04 — Off the clock

The other things I do when I'm not on a screen.

Football

Sports Secretary at Marine Sciences, UNILAG (2020–21). Captain. A wall of medals from football and basketball that my mum is more proud of than my degree.

Music

I write songs in my spare time. Just raw recordings on my phone for now — nothing public yet. Maybe one day.

Fish farm

I run a small fish farm on the side. The fisheries degree never fully retired — it just moved into a quieter office.
